Description

Why is digital literacy crucial for adult English learners? This paper presents findings from a study on the CILIA-T curriculum, designed to enhance English skills, U.S. History and Civics knowledge, and digital proficiencies among adult learners. The study assesses the effectiveness of explicit digital literacy instruction through pre- and post-tests, as well as learner and teacher surveys. The results indicate that targeted instruction in digital literacy significantly improves skills and is perceived as helpful and relevant by both teachers and learners, highlighting the importance of integrating technology into adult education programs.
