Executive Information Systems (EIS) often fail, but can linking TQM and best practices change that? This study investigates the barriers to creating a successful EIS and highlights how organizations are adopting best practices to overcome these challenges. Based on an empirical analysis, the research proposes a model for successful EIS implementation by integrating insights from best EIS practices and Total Quality Management (TQM) disciplines. This paper explores the significant barriers encountered during EIS implementation and examines the effectiveness of various best practices adopted to mitigate these challenges. The core of the research is to link the best practices in EIS to the established principles of TQM. This linkage facilitates a structured approach to EIS implementation, aligning IT projects with overall organizational quality goals. The proposed model offers a new perspective on how organizations can improve their chances of successful EIS implementation, improving decision-making capabilities, and driving organizational performance. It can serve as a guide for practitioners aiming to leverage EIS for strategic advantage, enabling them to effectively align IT investments with quality management objectives.
