Description

Assessing Spain's regional contributions to air pollution! This study focuses on atmospheric gas emissions as a critical global environmental issue, highlighted in the Kyoto Protocol, and analyzes the specific case of Spain. It underscores the importance of understanding the origin and level of emissions from a regional perspective, given their implications for regional development. The research provides detailed data on atmospheric emissions in different Spanish regions. It reveals that, in many instances, emissions are not directly proportional to the economic activity of each region. This complexity highlights the need for tailored environmental policies that consider the unique circumstances of each region. By recognizing regional disparities in emission levels, policymakers can develop more effective strategies to reduce atmospheric pollution and promote sustainable development. This study advocates for environmental policies that account for regional differences, leading to more targeted and impactful interventions on a national scale.
